Pick a haiku and translate its mood and meaning into a 6-page visual booklet, exploring typography, layout, and imagery to evoke emotion and narrative.

EXPLORATORY STUDIES
"A Poppy Blooms" by Katsushika Hokusai is really easy to relate to and can be interpreted in many different ways. The sketches begin very literal and slowly begin to get more abstract.

FINAL TRANSLATION
The first page is meant to represent the word slowly being erased, shown in lowering the opacity and size; the second is intended to show the ripping of the paper after trying to erase too many times, and the final is intended to show finally achieving the goal.
